This week in SR…

12 March 2014

Next week’s edition will be produced from Gretna Green. The SR team is preparing to elope for the second International Young Scotland Programme, which will bring together delegates from 21 countries across the world for several days of debate and discussion. All the delegates were born outside the UK.

The programme hopes to send a clear message that Scotland welcomes young people wherever they come from and regardless of how long they intend to stay here. It was conceived by SR editor Kenneth Roy and has been made possible by the generous support of Alan McIntyre, patron of the Institute of Contemporary Scotland, organisers of the event and publishers of SR. Can you identify the flags in the banner? They’re of the 21 countries represented in the International Young Scotland Programme. Answers at the foot of this column. No cheating!
