Edinburgh based singer songwriter Laura Silverstone has signed a multi-album record deal with independent label Last Night From Glasgow, just weeks after winning a Danny Kyle Award at this year’s Celtic Connections. It is the kind of trajectory every emerging musician dreams about, and Silverstone’s story is one worth paying attention to.

Born in the Basque Country and now living in Edinburgh, Silverstone has built her reputation through live performances at venues and festivals across the UK, including HebCelt, Kelburn Garden Party, Fringe by the Sea, and Dunbar Music Festival. She recently supported Frank Turner at his Lost Evenings VIII event in Edinburgh. The Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections was the recognition that opened the next door.

The deal with LNFG will see her 2022 album Heartwood released on vinyl for the first time in a limited edition run, pressed on slate blue vinyl at Seabass in East Lothian. A new studio album is planned for early 2027.

“I’m incredibly excited about how the new album is coming together,” Silverstone said. “I’m really delighted to be working with Last Night From Glasgow. The team has already made me feel very welcome and supported. It’s shaping up to be a busy year of touring.”

This year’s schedule includes the main stage at the Sound of Iona Music Festival alongside Newton Faulkner, an appearance at Back Doune the Rabbit Hole, and the first 24 dates of a UK and European tour with more to be announced. Scotland’s independent music scene continues to produce artists of genuine quality, and Silverstone’s blend of folk, roots, and personal songwriting fits comfortably into that tradition while standing firmly on its own terms.
