London Fashion Week brought out the big names on Monday, with Romeo Beckham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley among those walking the Burberry runway at 1 Old Billingsgate Walk. Say what you like about the fashion industry, but the Beckhams know how to generate a headline.

The younger Beckham, 23, wore a burgundy ensemble that featured a fur trimmed leather jacket over a light pink shirt, paired with burgundy trousers in Burberry’s signature checker pattern and black patent shoes. Huntington-Whiteley, 38, went with an extravagant knee length black fur coat with navy highlights, tied at the waist with a leather look black cord. Simple makeup, long blonde hair tucked into the oversized jacket. Classic model poise.

The front row was predictably packed with celebrity faces. Barry Keoghan turned up in a burgundy check jacket and a black newsboy cap. Jason Statham kept it simple in all black, which is probably the wisest approach when you are built like a nightclub doorman at a high fashion event. Kate Moss, 52, wore a slinky navy silk dress under a knee length black trench, accessorised with a double layered silver necklace. Daisy Edgar-Jones of Twisters fame opted for a long black leather version of the Burberry trench over a black lace skirt.

Also spotted in attendance were Nicky Hilton, Leo Woodall, Stellan Skarsgard, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Whether any of this advances the art of fashion or just advances the art of being photographed in expensive clothes is a question I will leave to people with more refined opinions than my own.
