Gaelic trio Sian, winners of the Scots Trad Music Awards Album of the Year for their record Araon, will join the lineup at HebCelt Festival in Stornoway this July. The booking fills a gap left by Siobhan Miller, who has postponed her planned festival appearances after announcing she is expecting a baby.

HebCelt artist programmer Michelle Shields said: “We’re just sending so much love and huge congratulations to Siobhan and her family. We’ll miss Siobhan at HebCelt this summer, but family comes first. We cannot wait to have Sian join us on stage after what has been an amazing year of music for them.”

The all female trio of Ceitlin, Eilidh, and Ellen have had a remarkable year, and the Album of the Year award has opened doors that were already starting to creak. Araon is a record that deserves the recognition, blending Gaelic song traditions with contemporary arrangements in a way that feels authentic rather than forced.

HebCelt takes place between July 15 and 18, with headliners including The Saw Doctors, Manran, and The Mary Wallopers. The rest of the lineup features Valtos, Colin Macleod, Fara, The Tumbling Souls, Peatbog Faeries, Laura Willie, and dozens more. The festival has established itself as one of the most important dates on Scotland’s traditional music calendar, and adding the current Album of the Year winners to the bill only strengthens that reputation.
