Just received an email from Casumo confirming they're cutting their weekend cashback on slots from 15% to 8% starting this Saturday. Been getting the 15% rate for the past 8 months on losses over £100.

The email says it's due to "promotional restructuring" but doesn't mention any compensation or alternative offers. This was one of their better ongoing promos - worked out to roughly £45 cashback most weekends when I was spinning Book of Dead at £2 stakes.

Anyone else received this notification? Wondering if it's hitting all UK accounts or just certain player tiers. My VIP status is Gold level if that makes a difference.

Typical operator move - hook you in with decent rates then slash them once you're committed. 15% to 8% is nearly half the value gone. I'd be looking elsewhere rather than accepting this downgrade.

Got the same email this morning! Proper gutted as I usually lose around £150-200 on weekend sessions. That 15% cashback was helping cushion the blow when Book of Ra went cold for 3 hours straight last Sunday.

Already signed up at Kingdom Casino - they're doing 20% weekend cashback on slots with no minimum loss requirement. Might be worth switching over if Casumo's cutting their rates this badly.

This follows a pattern I've noticed across multiple operators over the past 6 months. Started with Betsson cutting their Monday reload from 100% to 60%, then LeoVegas dropped their loss rebate from 10% to 6% in September. Now Casumo's following suit.

I've been tracking cashback rates across 12 different casinos since January, and the average weekend rate has dropped from 12.3% to 8.7% industry-wide. The operators are clearly tightening margins after the aggressive promotional periods of 2022-2023.

What's particularly frustrating is Casumo's timing - they're implementing this right before the Christmas period when most players increase their weekend spending. I've moved most of my action to Slottio recently - their 12% flat rate on all losses over £50 has been consistent for 4 months now, and their Pragmatic Play selection is actually better than Casumo's current offering.

The real question is whether this signals broader promotional cuts across their entire programme, or if it's isolated to weekend cashback specifically.

From a mathematical standpoint, dropping from 15% to 8% cashback reduces your effective RTP by roughly 7 percentage points on weekend sessions. If you're playing slots averaging 96% RTP, you're now getting an effective 89% instead of 96% return when factoring in the reduced cashback.

For a £200 weekend loss, you're now getting £16 back instead of £30 - that's £14 less value per session. Over a month, that's potentially £56 in reduced returns assuming weekly weekend play.

What's the minimum loss needed to qualify for the 8% rate? And do they still process cashback on Mondays like before?

This isn't surprising given Casumo's recent acquisition discussions and the pressure to improve profit margins before any potential sale. Weekend cashback promotions typically represent 15-20% of an operator's total promotional spend, so cutting rates here delivers immediate bottom-line improvement.

What's interesting is they're maintaining the Gold tier requirement rather than raising it to Platinum - suggests they're trying to retain mid-tier players while reducing costs. Expect similar cuts to their Tuesday reload and monthly birthday bonuses within the next 8 weeks.
