Question: am I allowed to bet against my own team (Celtic)?

Probably silly question but it's been on my mind. Lifelong Celtic supporter. Sometimes the value is on Rangers in a derby. Is there any rule (UKGC, my own ethics, anything) against betting against the team I support?

No regulatory rule against it. Personal ethical question only. Some folks find it relieves the pain of a loss; others find it makes the win feel hollow. Try once, see how you feel.

I bet against Celtic in 3 derbies last season as 'hedge insurance'. Net £40 ahead, but every Rangers goal felt awful. Decided it wasn't for me. Different folks, different answers.

I use Sky Bet for derby weekends because the cash-out is quick and you can hedge mid-match without much friction — useful when conscience kicks in.
