Tried logging into three different non-GamStop sites on Tuesday evening and got blocked at two of them - error message saying "service not available in your region" when connecting from my Edinburgh IP. Been playing at these same operators for 8 months without issues.

Managed to get through to one site's live chat and they confirmed they've restricted UK traffic since Monday due to "regulatory changes" but couldn't give specifics. The third site (won't name names publicly) is still working fine from Scottish connections.

Which operators are still accepting Scottish players?

Looking for current intel on which non-GamStop operators are definitely still taking UK registrations and deposits as of this week. Don't want to waste time with KYC documents if they're just going to block access after verification.

Bollocks to that mate. Half these "regulatory changes" are just operators getting cold feet about UK enforcement. Been saying for months that relying on offshore sites was dodgy long-term strategy.

You're better off sticking to the ones with proper Curacao licences that aren't scared of a few nasty letters from the UKGC. Most of these fly-by-night operations will fold or geo-block within 12 months anyway.

The IP blocking wave started after some enforcement action last week that didn't make the news. Three operators I know personally received cease and desist letters on Friday, specifically targeting their UK-facing marketing and payment processing.

Smart operators are temporarily geo-blocking while they sort out their compliance strategies. The ones still operating openly are either bulletproof with their licensing or haven't received letters yet. Slottio confirmed to me directly they're maintaining UK access because their Curacao licence covers it and their payment processors are outside UK jurisdiction.

Expect more blocks over the next fortnight as operators get spooked. The sites that survive this round will be the solid long-term options.

Had the exact same experience Tuesday night. Was mid-session on a £50 deposit at one site, hit a decent run on Razor Shark up to £180, tried to log back in after dinner and got the regional restriction message. Lost access to £180 in my account that I can't withdraw.

Spent Wednesday testing 12 different operators from my usual list. Seven are completely blocked from Scottish IPs, two are accepting registrations but failing at the deposit stage, and three are working normally. The working sites include Kingdom Casino which processed a £25 test deposit in under 5 minutes.

The pattern seems random - some big-name operators are blocked while smaller sites are fine. Makes me think it's more about individual operator risk tolerance than any coordinated industry response. Been tracking this in a spreadsheet and happy to share the current status list if anyone's interested.

Sorry for the basic question but what exactly triggers these IP blocks? Is it just your location or do they check other things during verification?

Also confused about the legal side - if these sites have proper licences from Malta or Curacao, why would UK enforcement matter? Thought the whole point of non-GamStop was avoiding UK regulations?

This is exactly why I never keep more than £100 at any single non-GamStop operator. The regulatory environment is too unstable for larger bankroll management.

If you're serious about staying in this space, diversify across 4-5 different operators and keep most of your funds in UK bank accounts. Never chase losses by depositing more when one site goes dark - that's how you lose serious money to geo-blocks and sudden shutdowns.

The operators that survive these waves tend to be the ones with conservative withdrawal policies and strong KYC procedures anyway.

Actually quite excited about this shake-up! The operators that are staying open are generally the better ones anyway - faster payouts, better game selection, proper customer service.

Just tested registration at five sites this morning and the ones still working are definitely higher quality. Better to have fewer solid options than loads of dodgy operators that might disappear overnight!

Hang on @stirlingslotslover - you tested five sites this morning and the ones still working are "higher quality"? That's survivorship bias talking. The operators still accepting Scottish IPs aren't necessarily better - they're just slower to implement geoblocking or haven't received enforcement pressure yet.

I've been tracking this since Tuesday and it's not about quality at all. Sites like Mystake and Betbeard went dark immediately because they have proper compliance teams. The ones still open? Half of them are running on skeleton crews who probably haven't even read the latest guidance letters. Give it another week and watch how many of your "higher quality" sites suddenly discover they need to block UK traffic too.
