Been tracking Sunday bonus offers across non-GamStop operators and noticed a clear pattern this week. Four different sites I use regularly have quietly cut their Sunday spins from 100 down to 50 - same wagering requirements (35x), same games selection, just half the spins.

The operators making this change: started Monday at two sites, then Wednesday another two followed suit. All citing "promotional review" in their terms updates. Still 0.10p per spin on Starburst or Book of Dead, but the value's obviously dropped by half.

Anyone else spotted this trend? Wondering if it's temporary for January or a permanent shift. The Sunday spins were one of the better regular promos at these sites - 100 spins gave you a decent shot at clearing the wagering if you caught a bonus round early.

Not surprised at all. These promotional cuts always start with one operator testing the waters, then the rest follow like sheep within a week. Classic industry behaviour - they know most punters won't notice until it's too late to complain.

The maths on this shift is telling. At 100 spins × 0.10p, you had £10 bonus value with 35x wagering (£350 playthrough). Success rate for clearing that was roughly 12-15% based on Starburst's volatility profile.

Now at 50 spins, you're looking at £5 bonus value, £175 playthrough, but the success rate doesn't double - it drops to maybe 8-10% because you need the bonus features to hit earlier in your session. The operators know this calculation perfectly well.

I've been tracking this at MadCasino specifically - they made the switch Tuesday but their Thursday reload bonus stayed at the same percentage. They're cutting where they think we won't notice the impact immediately.

This hits close to home because I had a proper session last Sunday that would've been different under the new structure. Was playing the 100 Sunday spins at one of these sites - can't remember which one now, but it was the usual Book of Dead setup.

First 30 spins were dead, barely any wins above 0.50p. Then around spin 45, caught the bonus round with three scatters. Pharaoh symbol expanded and paid out £47.80 on that single feature. That put me well ahead for the wagering requirement - ended up clearing the whole thing and withdrawing £78.

Under the new 50-spin system, I would've been done at spin 30 with maybe £3 in my balance. The bonus round would never have hit. These operators know exactly what they're doing - they've run the numbers on when most players catch their big wins during these promotional spins.

Been checking Spintime and they're still holding at 100 spins for now, but I expect them to follow suit by next weekend. That's how these promotional changes always roll out across the non-GamStop sector.

Hold on though - are we certain this isn't actually better for most players? Hear me out. Most punters never clear 35x wagering anyway, so they're just burning through spins and losing the lot. With 50 spins instead of 100, at least they're losing half as much time on a promotion that was never going to pay out.

Maybe the operators are doing us a favour by cutting the illusion short. Less time wasted chasing bonuses that have terrible completion rates to begin with.

Wait, so if I usually play through about 40 spins before giving up, does this change actually affect me at all? I never get close to finishing the full 100 anyway!

This is exactly why I keep telling people to read the terms before claiming any bonus. These promotional changes happen constantly, and if you're relying on Sunday spins as part of your regular play, you need to adjust your expectations accordingly.

Set a strict limit on how much you're willing to lose chasing these bonus clearances, and stick to it whether it's 50 spins or 100 spins. The house edge doesn't change just because they're giving you fewer chances to hit it.

The 50 spins at Tenobet still come with the same 35x wagering requirement though, so you're getting less value for the same impossible playthrough. This isn't operators being generous - it's cost-cutting disguised as player protection.

I've watched four different sites make this exact change since Monday, all claiming it's about "responsible gaming" while keeping the wagering terms identical. If they actually cared about harm reduction, they'd drop the multiplier to 25x or 30x instead of just halving the spins and hoping punters don't notice the math.
