Been tracking my sessions across Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza this week and something's not adding up. Both games are supposed to run at 96.1% RTP according to Pragmatic's official specs, but I'm seeing 94.2% displayed in the game info screens on three different sites I've tested.

This isn't about variance or bad luck - I'm talking about the actual RTP percentage shown when you click the info button in-game. Checked this on sessions Monday through Wednesday, £0.50 stakes, and it's consistent across all three operators.

What I've verified so far

Gates of Olympus: Should be 96.1%, showing 94.2%
Sweet Bonanza: Should be 96.1%, showing 94.2%
Tested on both desktop and mobile versions

Has anyone else noticed this discrepancy? Is this operators choosing lower RTP variants, or is there something else going on with Pragmatic's distribution this week?

Operators can absolutely choose lower RTP variants - that's not news. Most providers offer multiple configurations and sites pick whichever maximises their edge. You're acting like this is some conspiracy when it's standard industry practice that's been going on for years.

Glasgow's right about the variants, but what you're seeing is actually part of Pragmatic's updated distribution model that rolled out Monday. They've given operators more granular RTP options - 94.2%, 95.1%, and the standard 96.1%. Most UK-facing sites are defaulting to 94.2% because the margin difference is significant when you're dealing with thousands of daily spins.

From the operator side, it makes perfect sense. The 1.9% RTP reduction doesn't dramatically change the player experience on individual sessions, but it adds up substantially over volume. What's interesting is that MyStake is still running the 96.1% variants on their Pragmatic games - checked this yesterday during my shift research.

The info screen updates are mandatory under their licensing terms, so at least players can see exactly what they're getting into. It's more transparent than the old days when RTP variants weren't clearly displayed.

Been playing Pragmatic slots for three years and this RTP variance thing has become a right nightmare to track. Used to be you knew what you were getting - now every site seems to run different configurations and half the time you don't realise until you're already into a session.

My advice is always check the game info before you start spinning, no matter how familiar you think you are with a particular slot. I've been caught out twice this month alone thinking I was playing 96% games that turned out to be 94% variants.

Had a proper session on Gates of Olympus Tuesday night that perfectly illustrates this RTP variant issue. Started at Jack.com around 9pm with £100, playing £0.40 spins, and immediately noticed the 94.2% RTP in the game info. Wasn't bothered initially since I was just looking for some casual entertainment after work.

What was interesting though was how the game played compared to my usual sessions on the same slot elsewhere. Over 300 spins, I hit the bonus round exactly twice - both times giving me modest wins around 15x and 22x my stake. The base game felt notably tighter, with longer stretches between any meaningful wins. By 11:30pm I was down to £31, which isn't unusual for Gates, but the pattern felt different.

Thursday I tried the same game on a different site that was still running the 96.1% variant, same stake size, similar session length. Hit the bonus four times in roughly the same number of spins, with one decent 67x win that kept me roughly even for the night. Could be variance, but the difference in bonus frequency was quite noticeable.

The lesson here is definitely what Ivan said - always check that info screen before you start spinning, especially if you're used to playing the same slots across multiple sites.

This is exactly why I've started keeping a spreadsheet of which sites run which RTP variants. The difference between 94.2% and 96.1% might not seem massive, but over hundreds of spins it absolutely shows up in your balance.

For Pragmatic specifically, I've found that newer sites and smaller operators tend to default to the lower RTP options, probably because they need every edge they can get. The established names are more mixed - some stick with higher RTPs to attract players, others have quietly switched to maximise margins.

Wait, so the same game can have different RTPs on different sites? I had no idea this was even possible. I've been playing Sweet Bonanza for weeks thinking it was always the same 96.1% everywhere. How do you even find out which sites have the better versions?
