Been tracking my sessions on Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus over the past three weeks, and something's not adding up with the stated RTPs. At £1 spins, I'm seeing returns closer to the advertised 96.48% and 96.5% respectively. But when I bump up to £5 stakes, the numbers are consistently lower - tracking around 93.2% on Sweet Bonanza and 93.8% on Gates of Olympus across 800+ spins each.

This isn't just variance - I've been methodical about recording every session, stake level, and outcome. The pattern is too consistent to ignore. Has anyone else noticed Pragmatic Play games behaving differently at higher stakes? I'm seeing this across three different operators, so it's not site-specific.

The Numbers Don't Lie

Sweet Bonanza at £1 stakes: 847 spins, £423.50 return on £847 wagered = 96.1% actual RTP
Sweet Bonanza at £5 stakes: 412 spins, £1,920 return on £2,060 wagered = 93.2% actual RTP

That's a 2.9% difference on the same game. Either I've hit the worst variance streak in history, or something's off with how these games calculate payouts at different stake levels.

You're chasing ghosts mate. 800 spins is nowhere near enough data to make claims about RTP manipulation. Pragmatic Play games use certified RNGs - they can't just flip a switch and reduce payouts for higher stakes. That would be illegal under UKGC licensing.

What you're seeing is standard variance. Higher stakes don't change the maths, they just amplify the swings. Save yourself the headache and stick to stakes you can afford to lose.

I've been tracking similar patterns, but with a much larger sample size. Over the past six months, I've logged every spin across multiple Pragmatic Play titles - Dog House, Sweet Bonanza, Gates of Olympus, and Fruit Party. What I found was interesting, but not quite what you're describing.

At Kingdom Casino, I noticed that their £5+ stakes seemed to trigger bonus rounds less frequently than advertised. After 2,400+ spins on Sweet Bonanza at £5 stakes, I was hitting the bonus every 127 spins instead of the expected 1-in-100. But the bonus payouts themselves were actually slightly above average when they did hit.

The key difference in my data was timing. Evening sessions (7pm-11pm) showed consistently lower returns across all stake levels, while early morning sessions (6am-10am) tracked much closer to stated RTPs. This suggests server load or player volume might affect the randomisation algorithms, though that's purely speculation on my part.

Have you tracked the time of day for your sessions? That might explain the discrepancy better than stake-based manipulation.

There's been chatter in operator circles about Pragmatic Play's new "stake-weighted variance" system that rolled out quietly in September. It's not RTP manipulation per se, but it does adjust volatility patterns based on bet size. Higher stakes get pushed toward higher variance scenarios - fewer but bigger wins.

The mathematical RTP stays the same, but the distribution changes. You might see longer dry spells at £5 stakes followed by bigger hits, while £1 stakes get more frequent smaller wins. Same long-term return, different journey to get there.

Can't say more without breaking NDAs, but keep an eye on October's releases. Word is they're testing even more sophisticated algorithms.

Sorry for the basic question, but how do you actually calculate RTP from your own sessions? I've been playing for months but never tracked it properly. Do you just divide total winnings by total wagered? And what's a reliable sample size to trust the numbers?

Also, when you say "three different operators" - are you comparing like-for-like? Same game version, same bonus terms, same everything except the stake level?

Just hit a massive win on Gates of Olympus at £3 stakes yesterday - 2,847x multiplier that paid out £8,541! Been playing that game for months and this was easily my biggest hit. But here's the thing - it came after a brutal 200+ spin dry streak where I barely saw a 10x win.

I've been using MyStake for most of my Pragmatic Play sessions because their bonus buy feature actually works properly (unlike some sites where it times out). The variance on these games is absolutely mental regardless of stake level. One session I'll be up 400%, the next I'm down 80%.

Maybe track your bonus hit frequency instead of overall RTP? That might show clearer patterns than trying to calculate returns across different stakes.

This kind of detailed tracking is exactly what got me into trouble in the first place. Started innocent enough - just wanting to "understand the patterns" and "beat the system" with data.

Six months later I was chasing losses with mathematical precision, convinced that my spreadsheets would reveal some secret. Reality check: the house edge is baked in regardless of your stake level or tracking methods.

Set your limits before you play, not after you've analysed the results. The numbers will always find a way to justify one more session.
