Just logged into my account this morning and spotted the change - Spintime's Thursday free spins deal on Book of Dead has dropped from 200 spins to 75 spins for deposits over £25. The email came through at 11:47pm last night, so they've clearly done this quietly hoping folk wouldn't notice.

Been claiming this promo every Thursday for the past 6 weeks, usually nets me around £15-30 from the 200 spins depending on how the bonus rounds land. At 75 spins, you're looking at maybe £8-12 if you're lucky.

Anyone else spotted other operators cutting back their midweek promotions lately? Feels like we're seeing a pattern across the board.

Not surprised. Spintime's been tightening the screws for months - their weekend cashback dropped from 15% to 8% back in September. Operators always cut the good stuff when they think punters won't notice.

I track all my bonus plays in a spreadsheet, and Thursday's Book of Dead session at Spintime was pulling £22.40 average over 8 weeks with the 200 spins. That's a 96.8% return rate on the £25 deposit requirement.

With 75 spins, you're looking at roughly £8.40 average return - that's a 33.6% return rate. Massive difference in value. I'll be shifting my Thursday action elsewhere until they restore the original terms.

For comparison, I've been testing Kaasino's Wednesday reload at 100% match up to £50, and their Book of Dead RTP seems consistent at the advertised 96.21%. Much better value proposition right now.

Everyone's moaning about this, but were you actually profitable on those 200 spins? Book of Dead's variance is mental - you can easily burn through 200 spins and get nothing. The house edge doesn't change whether it's 75 or 200 spins.

This hits hard because Thursday nights were my weekly treat after work. I'd deposit the £25, get my 200 spins, and usually walk away with enough to cover Friday's lunch money. Last Thursday I hit the explorer expansion three times and cleared £47 from those spins.

Tried switching to Kaasino for their Wednesday promotion instead - their 100% match up to £50 gives you more control over your play. You can spread that bonus across multiple slots rather than being locked into Book of Dead. Hit a decent run on Gonzo's Quest last week and cashed out £83 after wagering.

It's frustrating when operators change the rules on promotions you've come to rely on. Makes you feel like they don't value the regular players who show up every week.

The maths here is straightforward. Book of Dead has a 96.21% RTP, so over 200 spins at 25p each (£50 total value), you'd expect £48.105 back on average. With 75 spins (£18.75 value), you're looking at £18.04 expected return.

The reduction cuts your expected value from -£1.895 to -£0.71, which actually improves your loss rate percentage-wise. But the absolute entertainment value drops significantly - fewer spins means fewer bonus triggers and less playing time.

Back in the day at the Genting in Glasgow, you'd get proper comps for your regular play - free drinks, meal vouchers, even hotel nights if you were putting decent money through. These online promotions are just marketing gimmicks they can change on a whim.

At least in a real casino, the staff knew your face and looked after you properly.

The £47 that @ayrshireaddict cleared last Thursday proves exactly why they're cutting this promotion. When players are consistently extracting value from 200 spins at 25p each, the operator's bleeding money on what was supposed to be a loss-leader acquisition tool.

I've tracked my own Thursday sessions over the past 8 weeks - average return was £31.20 per session from those 200 spins, which means I was getting back 62% of the £50 face value consistently. That's unsustainable math for Spintime when you factor in their processing costs and the fact that most of us weren't depositing additional funds beyond the £25 trigger.

The real question is whether they'll compensate by improving the weekend offers or if this is just the first domino falling in their Thursday restructure.
