Just signed up to three different UKGC-licensed sites last Monday (11th) and still waiting on verification to clear. Two of them are asking for additional bank statements from the past 60 days even though I uploaded everything they requested initially - payslips, utility bill, passport photo.

One operator said their compliance team is running 7-9 business days behind due to "increased application volumes" but that seems excessive compared to what I was expecting. The other two haven't given any timeframe at all.

Is this normal for UK-licensed operators right now? I thought the whole point of sticking with UKGC sites was faster processing compared to offshore options, but 9 days just to verify documents seems mental.

Anyone else experiencing similar delays with mainstream UK operators this month?

Nine days is taking the piss, mate. UKGC operators used to clear verification in 24-48 hours max. This sounds like they're either understaffed or deliberately dragging it out to keep your deposit locked up longer - free loan for them while you wait.

Which specific operators are we talking about here? Some of the bigger names have been cutting corners on customer service lately.

I went through similar hassle with verification delays back in October. Started with Betfair and William Hill on the same day - Betfair cleared me in 3 days but Hill took 11 days total. They kept asking for additional documents even after I'd submitted everything correctly.

The worst part was when they requested a council tax bill dated within 30 days, then rejected it because it was "too recent" and wanted one from 31-90 days instead. Absolute madness. Eventually got through but had to phone their support line twice and speak to supervisors.

What I learned is that Jack.com actually processed my verification in under 48 hours when I tried them later - their compliance team seems more efficient than the big high street names. Sometimes the smaller UKGC operators are actually faster because they're not drowning in applications.

Keep pushing them for updates every 2-3 days. The squeaky wheel gets the grease with these verification departments.

Wait, so even UKGC sites can take over a week just to verify basic documents? I thought that was only a problem with the offshore operators that don't have UK licenses.

What happens if you need to withdraw money during this verification period? Are your winnings basically locked until they approve everything? This is making me second-guess signing up anywhere if it takes this long just to get started.

Everyone's moaning about 9 days but you're missing the bigger picture here. UKGC verification is supposed to be thorough - that's literally the point of having regulated operators instead of dodgy offshore sites.

Would you rather they rubber-stamp everything in 24 hours and then have money laundering issues, or actually check your documents properly? The delays usually happen when people submit blurry photos or documents that don't match their registration details exactly.

Nine days isn't ideal but it's not unreasonable if they're being diligent about compliance. Better than getting your account frozen later because they missed something during a rushed verification process.

Just got verified at seven.casino last week and it only took 3 days! Uploaded everything on Friday morning and got the approval email Monday afternoon. Their document upload system is really clean too - shows you exactly what format they need for each document.

Maybe try some of the newer UKGC operators instead of the old established ones? Sometimes they're hungrier for customers so they process things faster. The big names probably have thousands of applications backing up their systems.

Stick with it mate, 9 days is frustrating but you'll get there. I had similar delays with Ladbrokes earlier this year - took 8 days but once it cleared everything worked smoothly.

The wait is annoying but at least you know you're dealing with properly licensed operators. Worth the patience for the peace of mind.
