Scottish Review : The Midgie

The Midgie

A friend of The Midgie spotted this sign on the steps of a well-known Glasgow restaurant – what the common press would no doubt call an eaterie. The Midgie wonders why the sign at the Ubiquitous Chip reads ‘Caution wobbly step’ and not ‘Caution wobbly customer’.

A national hotel chain reports that the book most often left behind in guests’ bedrooms is the autobiography of two-Jags Prescott. The Midgie is surprised not that the book is left behind, but that anyone should have bought it in the first place.

At this challenging time of soaring food bills and travel costs, The Midgie wonders what any responsible midgie can find to dance about.
